Google Desktop Enterprise

The gang at Google has come up with a new version of its desktop search application that’s designed to allay the security fears of network administrators. Google Desktop Enterprise comes with lockdown features and encryption of the local data index for protection from prying eyes. The new release also features the ability to search Lotus Notes e-mail. Users beware though, the default application indexes all your Web site visits as well for future retrieval, including any HTTPS sites. Meaning your usernames, passwords and any porn sites you visit could be stored. You can turn off the indexing of secured sites, which is recommended.
