This whole Microsoft-Google fight over disputed employee Kai Fu-Lee is getting awesome.
Long scuffle short: Lee worked for Microsoft on projects related to expanding in China. Google snatched Lee away and made him VP for development in, you guessed it, China. Microsoft freaks out, citing the non-compete clause in Lee’s contract and sues Google. Lee cools his heels until a decision is made in court.
Now, the fun stuff. Documents filed in court are showing how much Microsoft dislikes Google.
“I’m going to f—— bury that guy, I have done it before, and I will do it again,” the normally mild-mannered and reserved Steve Ballmer said of Google CEO Eric Schmidt. “I’m going to f—— kill Google.”
Former Microsoft engineer Mark Lucovsky swore that Ballmer made that statement during a meeting last year.
Reports the AP: “After learning Lucovsky was leaving to take a job at Google, Ballmer picked up his chair and hurled it across his office, according to the declaration.”
This is turning into an excellent nighttime soap.
