eBay to buy Skype?

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that eBay is in talks to exercise a BuyItNow option on Skype to the tune of $2 billion to $3 billion.

That’s a boatload of Beanie Baby auction money there. Out of all potential well-heeled suitors, eBay definitely wasn’t the first that sprang to our mind. It’ll be interesting to see where – or how – this pans out.
