The AP reports today that 32% of American adults are offline, either because of access issues or by choice.
One-third of the non-‘Netters say they don’t have access to the Internet, while another third say they’re just not interested. The rest cite a variety of reasons, from “too busy” to “too expensive.”
The study, conducted by the Pew Internet and American Life Project, finds that most of those offline are older: “Seventy-eight percent of those age 70 and older are offline, compared with less than half of the 60-69 group and less than a quarter of adults under 70.”
