Layer 8 reader Avraham was nice enough to share this screenshot (pop-up), in which he notes “you have to apply to Sony in writing for ‘permission’ to uninstall their rootkit from your own computer! Way to go Sony!”
Indeed: So Sony stealthily sneaks this rootkit on your computer, you find out about it and have to ask for permission to remove this junk, an action that in the end doesn’t really remove the rootkit anyway.
