Is the news gettin’ ya down?

Can’t handle in the reality of CNN, Fox News or Network World? Then you should check out HappyNews.com, a site that promos the brighter side of life for those who need a break.

USA Today takes a look at the site, which features upbeat national and international, news, such as “Seven-years of fundraising total nearly $300,000 for Las Vegas cause,” “Caring Hall of Fame inducts 12 for efforts” and “Christmas brings out volunteers in Greenwich Village.”

“News is supposed to give you a view of the world. The news media, the way it has evolved, gives you a distorted view of the world by exaggerating bad news, misery and despair. We’re trying to balance out the scale,” notes publisher Byron Reese.
