That’s what Tuttle, Okla., city manager Jerry Taylor is finding out after he, let’s say, overreacted when he came into contact to Linux two weeks ago. Long story short, according to the Register:
“Taylor went to Tuttle city’s Web site, hoping to make some changes. Upon arriving at the site, he discovered the boilerplate Apache Web server configuration page and mistook this for a possible hack attempt on Tuttle [by CentOS]. Instead of contacting a server administrator about the problem, Taylor initiated a tirade with a CentOS support staffer in which he repeatedly threatened to have the FBI investigate the Linux maker for attacking Tuttle’s municipal Web site.”
Tuttle’s nutty e-mails have been flying across the ‘Net, Linux folks have been e-mailing him and everyone’s been having a laugh at good ‘ol Jerry. However, Jerry hasn’t been backing down, and tells the local paper:
“This is just a bunch of freaks out there that don’t have anything better to do.”
Oh, Jerry, bad move. You think you got e-mail before?
