Good idea: Awarding MP3 players as prizes. Bad idea: Having said MP3 players be riddled with spyware. McDonalds of Japan is recalling as many as 10,000 infected MP3 prizes as the flash players were loaded with 10 songs and a variant of the QQpass spyware Trojan. Writes The Register: “Users who connected the McDonalds-branded MP3 player to their Windows PC were exposed to spyware code programmed to transmit their web passwords and other sensitive information to hackers.” Via The Register
