A London-based Ska band, 7 seconds of love , says it is toying with taking Coca-Cola to court over the soda giant’s alleged use of one of the band’s songs for an advertisement in Argentina. In a story in today’s The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the band’s lead singer said: “Initially, we didn’t think much about it, because we don’t get Argentine television here,” Joel Veitch said. “It was when it turned up on the Internet that we went, ‘Oh my god.” The discovery, Veitch said, led to “righteous fury followed by deep irritation.” Veitch, also a freelance artist, created the band’s video, which was also released on MySpace and YouTube. Coke is looking to resolve the matter and Veitch says the band would like a sensible settlement.
